ADHD

ADHD is a common behavioral disorder that affects around 8 to 10 per cent of school going children. This is seen more in boys rather than girls. There are reports and findings that boys are more susceptible to this syndrome as compared to girls. There are many experiments that have been conducted but still most of the experts cannot figure out why this is so?

Most of the experts claim that most of the students that are affected by this syndrome are hyperactive and have more problems in concentrating to their work. They have an understanding of the subject matter that is being taught to them but are not able to concentrate on the very first time, they have to be repeatedly taught almost two or three times. Some of them may understand what is expected from them but they still cannot pay attention to the details and the information that is provided to them.

The following are the symptoms that are seen in those boys and girls that are affected: this would be an inattentive type of symptoms.

Well the very first one being that they are unable to concentrate on what is being taught to them, while some are very careless in their work and studies.

Students with this syndrome have the difficulty in sustaining and remembering the information that is provided to them, this is in addition to concentrate on their studies.

Most of these students have listening problems.

They have a tendency to forget too, and most of them even forget bringing back their things that they took to school, they also forget to bring back their pencil and other paper stationary that they take every day.

They don’t even do their homework; this is because they forget to do their homework and is not because they are careless.

They are forgetful in daily activities too.

Hyperactivity symptoms usually include:

Difficulty in remaining seated all the time, they have to move from one place to another every time.

They also fidget with things and keep them here and there; this is because they forget where it was supposed to be kept.

Because they are hyper active, they often run and climb and this makes them very tired, contributing to their distraction and lack of concentration.

They have the habit of excessive talking and always have the tendency to interrupt and intrude when others talk.
