Chiropractic Tables

Chiropractic practice is involved diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal system, with special emphasis on the spine. The chiropractic practice is based on the hypothesis that all bodily disorders that affect our general health are caused because of the ailments of the nervous system. This system of practice is considered as complementary and alternative medicine to the regular medical practices.

Chiropractic practice is mainly involved in manual therapy which would include spinal manipulation and other joint and soft tissue manipulation. Treatment also would include exercise and life style counseling. This kind of practice is based on the idea of verbal subluxation or spinal joint dysfunction which interferes with the regular body function causing majority of bodily ailments.

Majority of chiropractic practice is involved in spinal manipulation which a chiropractor would call as “spinal adjustment” or “chiropractic adjustment”. In the United States, 90% of all chiropractic treatment consists of such manipulative treatment. Chiropractic tables are used to carry out such manipulative treatment involved in chiropractic practices.

These chiropractic tables are available in different designs as per the requirement of the chiropractic practitioner and the patient. Smooth reliable actuators are used in each to operate HiLo and variable height operations. This allows for the patient to be positioned simply and efficiently, and with the variable height feature, the patient can be positioned at the most convenient height for the chiropractor.

This feature also makes the variable height tables suitable for clinics where multiple practitioners will be using the one table. This feature would allow each doctor to select his preferred operating height.

Each table is supplied with four drops - Cervical, Lumbar, Dorsal, and Pelvic. The drops have been designed to have a crisp feel, yet are virtually maintenance free. Each drops tension can be adjusted for precise control, with an adjustment knob located on each side of the table.

Each cushion uses two densities of foam. A kind of very high density foam is used as the basis of the cushion, adding firmness which assists in the drop technique. However a second softer layer of foam is added to provide comfort for the patient. The cushions are then upholstered using supple but yet long-wearing vinyl. Leather could also be used for this use optionally.

Some chiropractic tables provide the feature both of HiLo and variable height table in the same table. These tables are available with a range of operating heights, allowing the chiropractor to position the patient at the most comfortable operating height for various adjusting procedures.

There are number of suppliers of these chiropractic tables and they could be easily located by making a search on the internet.
