Family Chiropractic
With the increasing popularity of chiropractic therapy for the treatment of pain, this therapy is being applied for the treatment of many other diseases. The therapy is becoming popular in the medical treatment of different people ranging from babies to old people.
Chiropractic therapy is also helping women during their pregnancy for a safer delivery. All of these trends have led to the concept of family chiropractic practice.
We now explore how family chiropractic practice would help in taking proper care of the children of the family.
It is a common practice to take a child for regular check up to a doctor to check its teeth, hearing, eyes and ears. But, nobody thinks of a spinal checkup of the baby. But, such a checkup is very important for the future development of the baby.
The spine of the baby is its lifeline. The spinal cord runs through this spine that contains billions of nerve fibres that send messages and energy from the brain to every part of the body. Any blockage or damage of any of the nerves running along the spinal cord would produce a state of “disease” in the body of the baby.
Such “disease” would cause disharmony in the body leading to generalized weakness of the child’s body, causing reduced resistance to disease, consequently leading to body malfunctioning and sickness.
Blockages of nerves in the spinal column are usually caused by tiny fixations and misalignments of the spinal vertebrae that are called vertebral Subluxation. Chiropractors would be able to detect and correct subluxation, just like a dentists would find a cavity in the teeth.
Birth process could also produce subluxation. Later on, the simple activities like running and jumping, falling down or any accident could cause subluxation.
A regular visit to a chiropractor for periodic spinal check up would reveal any subluxation being suffered by the baby. The parents would not be aware of this unless they visit the family chiropractic clinic. However, there are a few indications that could warn the parents the spinal column of the baby might be out of alignment.
They are: one hip or shoulder is higher than the other, hyperactivity and difficulty sitting still, frequent falling, a foot turned in or out (foot flare), neck tilt, one leg shorter than the other, often tired, “noisy bones” or joint aches, and skin conditions. Some other indicators are increased allergies, colds and flu, asthma and ear infections.
Such family chiropractic clinics would not only help in the healthy growth of the baby, they would help maintaining the health of other members of the family, whether young or old.
