Modern chiropractic has its origins from its ancient practice and this modernized version of chiropractic began in the late ‘80s when a famous doctor Daniel David palmer, a self educated teacher and a healer by profession began the first spinal manipulation on the patient that had come to seek some advice on his health problems.
This was the first time in this field that this doctor has asked the patient for some cooperation and that he would not ask or charge any fees for this service. So this was the first time when the patient had offered and provided the doctor and gave him the permission for the spinal manipulation.
The term used for this magical treatment is taken from the Greek word “Chiropraktikos” which means treatment by hands and this is exactly the same that these chiropractic practitioners do. These guys use their hands to manipulate the body and search for the illness and then promote its healing and wellness. And it’s not only that this medical treatment is usually based on the following statements and beliefs such as:
A healthy nervous system is usually the key to a healthy body and this is particularly of the spine what we are talking about, the spine is such an important part of the human body that any damage or harm would make a human paralyzed for all eternity. So this is really a sensitive form of medical treatment since it has to deal with one of the most sensitive parts of the human body- the spine.
The second belief that this medical practice relies on, is that all the body functions are interconnected and its healing process involves the entire human body along with the other vital organs that are surrounded and located near the epicenter.
And lastly it’s based on such belief that when the body system is in harmony then the human body has a remarkable ability to maintain and regulate and heal itself. So these are the beliefs that the chiropractic and its professionals strictly believe and profound upon.
Chiropractors are medical professionals who practice this medical art and skill, they are the ones who diagnose and treat these bodily disorders of the musculosketal and nervous systems. They are the ones who diagnose and treat the patients without the use or the prescription of medical drugs and chemicals. They don’t perform any surgery or operation and though they work in unity and under the supervision of allopathy doctors and surgeons.
