Ultrasound

Gone are those days, when chiropractors used to use to just use their hands to diagnose, locate and heal the body pain. Now days there are many other treatments that are being done in the field of chiropractic, such as the hydro therapy, the ultrasound, the X rays and even percussion massages.

Since this is the main thumb rule of the world that you have to constantly keep on changing, for stagnant as you would be, then you would stay far behind.

Well the same applies to the field of chiropractors too, there are no more using their hands , I mean not literally but still the shift has been to treatment on the basis of different machines and other few technologies. There are other machines such as the intersegment traction and percussion massages equipments that are used now days instead of those human hands. But still the main objective still remains that same, “no use of medical drugs and pharmaceuticals”.

Though most of the chiropractors don’t use their hands anymore, but they even don’t prescribe the use of medical drugs and other pills.

Amongst all other forms of chiropractic techniques and methods, the ultrasound seems to be the most recent invention. At least in the field of chiropractic, this is because this was not in early use. The reason why this came into play is because earlier most of the chiropractors could not diagnose some of the body issues and that is why they started using these machines that can be considered to be a part of the traditional medical practice. So using these machines help out most of the chiropractors to treat and diagnose all the problems.

Ultrasound imaging has primary acceptance and importance in the field of cardiology and obstetrics, off late this has been introduced even in the field of gastroenterology. But there is one major advantage of this therapy when compared to other forms of diagnostics and that is the real time scanning and moving of static soft tissue structures with that of grayscale contrast.

But the major drawback of this therapy is that they are relative poor results of the spatial image resolution that it produces and this is because ultrasound is not able to pass through the bone and other several soft tissues.

However, there are many such occasions where ultrasound can be very useful and even cost effective for imaging some other musculoskeletal regions. The knee, the wrist and the elbow along with fingers and shoulders can be examined and checked quickly with the help of this therapy and that too without any discomfort and inconvenience.

Moreover, these are less expensive to examine with the help of the ultrasound as compared to other imaging system and techniques such as the x rays and the sonography.
